What says “winter-outdoor-fun” better than Ice skating? Our BCRA Bryce Canyon Ice Ribbon is located across from Ruby’s Inn at the Winter Adventure Center (Ebenezer’s Barn & Grill building).

Young and old alike can enjoy this time proven winter favorite. Bring your own skates or rentals are available at the Winter Adventure Center at Ruby’s Inn.

The sound of skates gliding across smooth ice rejoins the soundtrack of winter at Ruby’s Inn with the unveiling of their brand new BCRA Bryce Canyon Ice Ribbon this month. Open for the entire season, the ribbon offers a meandering path to skate, located just steps from other winter activities.

$ 7 Per Person for Ice Ribbon Access Pass, Children (3 & under) free.

Operating Hours for the Bryce Canyon Ice Ribbon:
Monday- Thursday

3:00 PM – 5:30 PM

  6:15 PM – 8:00 PM

Friday and Saturday

1:00 PM – 3:00 PM

3:45 PM – 5:30 PM

6:15 PM – 9:00 PM

Sunday

12:00 PM- 2:30 PM

3:15 PM – 6:00 PM

Both Lance Syrett and Jade Roundy, BCRA members, were excited that the rink could now open earlier. In following years it should be open from around November 10 until March 1 or later.

Like the old rink, the new ice ribbon features outdoor skating, but with some improvements. One improvement is a chiller for making ice. “We are very excited about being able to help mother nature and make our own ice and have an ice skating rink available sooner and longer,” said Kat Morrow, the Operations Manager at the old rink.

Where to park your car when you take the Shuttle

When you take the Bryce Canyon Shuttle, parking is available at the Bryce Canyon Shuttle Station (165 S. Main St.), leave your car/RV parked at your campsite & hotel room or you can park in Ruby’s long-term parking area. Ruby’s Long Term Parking is located along the East side of Main St. (highway) between Center St. and 100 North.

Quick Facts:

  • The shuttle is free with park admission: Your park entrance receipt or annual pass allows you and the occupants of your vehicle unlimited shuttle access.
  • Buses typically arrive at each stop every 15 minutes, but with the new Bryce Canyon Shuttle Tracker you can time your next ride to the minute.
  • The best place to board the shuttle is before you enter the park, at the Shuttle Station in Bryce Canyon City (Stop 1), or at the Visitor Center (Stop 6).
  • The best place to park your car is at the Shuttle Station in Bryce Canyon City or the Additional Parking lot across from the Visitor Center.
  • All buses are wheelchair accessible and can accommodate 2 bicycles on a front rack.
  • Masks are currently optional for all shuttle riders.
  • Pets are not permitted on the shuttle.

Located in Bryce City is Old Bryce Town which is one of the main tourist attractions. There are several little shops located there with an old western style theme. All the goodies can be found here such as; dipped hard ice cream and baked goods. You can even get a group photo with western wear on! There is plenty of fun and such to be had at Old Bryce Town.

Winter Activities in Bryce Canyon

Winter is one of the most magical times of the year at Bryce Canyon National Park. The air is crisp and pure and you can see for hundreds of miles. Like fall and spring, winter is a smart time to visit Bryce Canyon. Take advantage of low rates and practically no crowds. The park is open all year and is accessible by automobile although sections of the road may be temporarily closed after a heavy snowfall. Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are popular in the Bryce Canyon National Park and the surrounding area.

The Ruby’s Inn Winter Adventure Center is open daily 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Hours are subject to vary depending on weather.

Cross Country Skiing

Start your cross country ski adventure right from your guest room door!  Over 30 km of groomed trails wind through forests of Ponderosa pine, meadows and majestic overlooks,  offering guests one of the best ways to enjoy the peaceful scenery and fresh clean air of Bryce.  The canyon is especially beautiful in the winter and cross country skiing is permitted inside the park.

Fee Free Days 2023

The National Park Service announced it is waiving entrance fees for all parks on certain days of the year.

The free admission is designed to encourage Americans to venture out and explore the country’s 63 National Parks and 360 designated sites.

Entrance fees will be waived on the following dates in 2023:

  • Jan. 16 – Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
  • April 12 – First day of National Park Week
  • Aug. 4 – Anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act
  • Sept. 23 – National Public Lands Day
  • Nov. 11 – Veterans Day

Rangers said the waiver of the fee does not cover the cost of amenities or activities at the recreational sites.
